Development

The mission of Maple Knoll Communities, Inc. is to be recognized as a growing provider of outstanding senior communities and services that allow those we serve to thrive in a stimulating, and dignified environment. This will be accomplished through creativity and responsible fiscal stewardship.

The Fund Development Program at Maple Knoll Communities includes three approaches: Annual Giving, Major Gifts and Planned Giving.

Our annual giving program, the Future Care Fund, allows all of our residents to live a life of peace and security. The peace of knowing that home will always be there if one is short of funds, and the security of recognizing Maple Knoll Communities’ charitable mission.

The Future Care Fund supports Maple Knoll’s and The Knolls of Oxford’s benevolent care program which provides the highest quality care and services to residents who cannot pay for the total cost of their care. The annual Future Care Fund contributes an important part of the total cost of our benevolent care program which is now over $1 million each year.

  • Distributed more than $20 million
  • Helped our neighbors stay in their homes near friends and familiar surroundings
  • Allowed recipients to remain anonymous

Individuals who include Maple Knoll Communities in their estate plans become members of our Living Legacy Society. A gift to the Living Legacy Society can be made through a bequest, charitable gift annuity, life insurance plan, trust, or other type of planned gift. Membership is also given to anyone who has made $50,000 in gifts during their lifetime. A unique display has been created to honor individuals who are members of the Living Legacy Society. This colorful display is located in Heritage Hall at Maple Knoll Village. It features an assortment of antique teacups or collector mugs that pay tribute to those donors whose generosity has propelled Maple Knoll Communities into the respected organization it is today.

Major gifts for Capital Projects remain an important part of giving at Maple Knoll Communities. Significant projects in our history have included: The WMKV studios, Life Enriching Gardens at Maple Knoll Village, Breese Manor, The Hemsworth Wellness Center, The Dorothy Puccini Library, The Chapel at Maple Knoll Village, The Richard Neubauer, MD and John Hughes Hospice Center, Sycamore Senior Center, The Knolls of Oxford Memorial Garden, Spiritual Care Upper Room, Maple Knoll Big Bus and The Gregg Warshaw, MD Health Center.
